There are hardly any Vins de Pays in Burgundy, so we were intrigued to come across this rather good one. Situated in northern Burgundy, 40 miles south of Chablis, the village of Tannay is surrounded by a little known ancient vineyard. These now produce a high quality Vin de Pays Chardonnay. Unoaked, this is a crisp Chardonnay with fresh citrus and peach fruit character and a smooth texture, finishing with a hint of minerality and smokiness. Delicious on its own or with seafood, fish or chicken.
