Welcome to the University of Portsmouth's Cheerleading Club page!!!
We're a fairly new club, only really been around for a few years now but attracting more members every year! We compete for the University at the annual BCA University competition and this year also competed at the Midlands Classic. We are currently placed in Novice Cheer (6th place!!) but hope to compete in Partner Stunt also next year.
We're looking to recruit new members for both the competition and event stunt squads and are particularly keen to hear from any guys who want to try out. Most people think that cheerleading is easy, and yes the emphasis is on fun, but dont be fooled into thinking its all about pom poms and pretty outfits, it requires agility, flexibility, hard work and above all commitment, pretty much like any other competetive sport out there.
If you think you have what it takes then let us know. Tryouts take place yearly in October, just email us or come and visit at Freshers Fayre.
